Do I Want a smaller Footprint?

As much as I would like a smaller footprint for my HomeLab, is it really necessary? No. But when we start talking multiple of servers for my services, it does matter as I am in an apartment and only can take up so much power. So I may have to meet in the middle as far as performance/power efficiency.

They do make lower power AMD Epyc processors, so I will have to do some research into which ones may work best for what I am trying to achieve.

Do I really need to upgrade?

No, my current server that hosts all my services is a Core i7 12700K with a 3070 Graphics Card. It is rather robust for my needs, but I want to try to use more enterprise style gear for my lab. Processor power is the main goal. I may upgrade the graphics card to run AI models and such. My 3070 currently is only 8 GB, which is semi fine for gaming but low for running tokens per second in ollama or ChatGPT models.
